Description

Babies in museums (Wales)

Monday 20 October, 10am-12pm

Do you want to learn more about how babies experience museums to help you to develop, or improve provision for this audience and their parents/ carers?

Following a sold out webinar earlier this year, Kids in Museums is pleased to offer a free training session for museum staff in Wales.

About this training

This training webinar will be led by Professor Anna Franklin and Dr Alice Skelton from the Sussex Baby Lab. The Sussex Baby Lab is a team of researchers at the University of Sussex who conduct fun and friendly experiments with babies to understand how they see, think and learn.

They will be joined by Menna Bradford and Penny Osborne from the Museum of Cardiff, who will talk about Dinky Dragons, a free monthly event for babies, toddlers and their grown-ups.

In this session, we will:

· understand the importance of this work,

· gain an insight into how babies see, think and learn in museum spaces,

· think about how to develop provision for babies in your organisation,

· gain inspiration from a case study from the Museum of Cardiff to take your own work forward,

· take away top tips to inform your practice.

Take a look at the full schedule.

This training event will be delivered virtually on Zoom over one half-day session (two hours with a short break). This session will be delivered in English with bilingual slides, with the option to provide a Welsh language interpreter.

Generously supported by the Welsh Government.

Who should attend?

This training is aimed at staff who work in museums, art galleries and heritage sites and are interested in either beginning to offer provision for families with babies or developing their current offer. This training webinar is for staff and volunteers from Welsh museums only.

Babanod mewn amgueddfeydd

Dydd Llun 20 Hydref, 10am-12pm

Hoffech chi wybod mwy am y ffordd y mae babanod yn profi amgueddfeydd i’ch helpu i ddatblygu neu wella eich darpariaeth i’r gynulleidfa hon a’u rhieni/gofalwyr?

Yn dilyn gweminar a werthwyd yn llwyr yn gynharach eleni, mae’n bleser gan Kids in Museums gynnig sesiwn hyfforddi rad ac am ddim i staff amgueddfeydd yng Nghymru.

Gair am yr hyfforddiant hwn

Bydd y gweminar hyfforddi hwn yn cael ei arwain gan yr Athro Anna Franklin a Dr Alice Skelton o Labordy Babanod Sussex. Mae Labordy Babanod Sussex yn dîm o ymchwilwyr ym Mhrifysgol Sussex sy’n gwneud arbrofion hwyliog a chyfeillgar gyda babanod er mwyn deall sut maen nhw’n gweld, meddwl a dysgu.

Yn ymuno â nhw bydd Menna Bradford a Penny Osborne o Amgueddfa Caerdydd, a fydd yn siarad am Dinky Dragons, digwyddiad misol am ddim i fabanod, plant bach a’u hoedolion.

Yn y sesiwn hon, byddwn yn:

· deall pwysigrwydd y gwaith hwn,

· cael dealltwriaeth o’r ffordd y mae babanod yn gweld, meddwl a dysgu mewn amgueddfeydd

· ystyried sut i ddatblygu darpariaeth i fabanod yn eich sefydliad chi,

· cael ysbrydoliaeth o astudiaeth achos o Amgueddfa Caerdydd i symud eich gwaith chi ymlaen

· trafod awgrymiadau gwych i hysbysu eich gwaith.

Edrychwch ar yr amserlen lawn.

Bydd y digwyddiad hyfforddiant yma’n digwydd ar-lein ar Zoom dros hanner diwrnod (dwy awr gydag egwyl fer). Byddwn yn darparu’r sesiwn hon yn Saesneg gyda sleidiau dwyieithog, a’r opsiwn i gael cyfieithydd Cymraeg.
