Description

Tuesday 7 July, 10am - 12pm

Do you want to consult with children and families to improve your provision, but aren’t sure how to do this in a meaningful way?

Consulting with children and families means you’ll be better informed when planning or making decisions about provision for these groups. Through meaningful collaboration, your museum can avoid making assumptions and create activities, programmes and projects that are more connected to your child and family audiences.

This training webinar will be led by Sarah Shaw, former National Family Interpretation Manager for English Heritage. Her work included collaboratively designing family friendly experiences with families at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Birdoswald Roman Fort, which won the Best Family Day Out UK Heritage Award in 2020.

Sarah will be joined by Gemma Edwards, Schools Heritage Officer, at CofGâr, who will talk about their consultation work with children at the Museum of Land Speed.

The session will help delegates to:

  • gain inspiration from case studies to take your own work forward,

  • develop fun and inclusive activities to help you successfully consult with children and families,

  • explore how to recruit children and families to undertake consultation,

  • think about how to analyse and disseminate data after the consultation has taken place.

This training event will be delivered virtually on Zoom over one half-day session (two hours with a short break).

Who should attend?

This training is aimed at staff who work in museums, art galleries and heritage sites who are interested in exploring ways to meaningfully consult with children and families. This training webinar is for staff and volunteers from Welsh museums only.

Ymgynghori’n ystyrlon â phlant a theuluoedd (Cymru)

Dydd Mawrth 7 Gorffennaf, 10am - 12pm

Ydych chi eisiau ymgynghori â phlant a theuluoedd i wella eich darpariaeth, ond dydych chi ddim yn siŵr sut i wneud hynny mewn ffordd ystyrlon?

Mae ymgynghori â phlant a theuluoedd yn golygu y byddwch yn fwy gwybodus wrth gynllunio neu wneud penderfyniadau am ddarpariaeth ar gyfer y grwpiau hyn. Trwy gydweithio’n ystyrlon, gall eich amgueddfa osgoi gwneud rhagdybiaethau a gall greu gweithgareddau, rhaglenni a phrosiectau sy'n fwy cysylltiedig â'r plant a theuluoedd sy’n ymweld.

Bydd y gweminar hyfforddi hwn yn cael ei arwain gan Sarah Shaw, cyn Reolwr Cenedlaethol mewn Dehongliadau i Deuluoedd ar gyfer English Heritage. Roedd ei gwaith yn cynnwys gweithio gyda theuluoedd i ddylunio profiadau addas i deuluoedd yng Nghaer Rufeinig Birdoswald Safle Treftadaeth y Byd UNESCO, a enillodd Wobr Treftadaeth y DU am y Diwrnod Allan Gorau i Deuluoedd yn 2020.

Yn ymuno â Sarah bydd Gemma Edwards, Swyddog Treftadaeth Ysgolion, yn CofGâr, a fydd yn siarad am eu gwaith ymgynghori â phlant yn yr Amgueddfa Cyflymder.

Bydd y sesiwn yn helpu cynrychiolwyr i:

• gael ysbrydoliaeth o astudiaethau achos i symud eich gwaith eich hun yn ei flaen,

• datblygu gweithgareddau hwyliog a chynhwysol i'ch helpu i ymgynghori'n llwyddiannus â phlant a theuluoedd,

• archwilio sut i recriwtio plant a theuluoedd i gynnal ymgynghoriad,

• ystyried sut i ddadansoddi a lledaenu data ar ôl i'r ymgynghoriad ddigwydd.

Bydd y digwyddiad hyfforddi hwn yn cael ei gyflwyno ar-lein ar Zoom dros un sesiwn hanner diwrnod (dwy awr gydag egwyl fer).

Pwy ddylai fynychu?

Mae'r hyfforddiant hwn wedi'i anelu at staff sy'n gweithio mewn amgueddfeydd, orielau celf a safleoedd treftadaeth sydd â diddordeb mewn archwilio ffyrdd o ymgynghori'n ystyrlon â phlant a theuluoedd. Mae’r gweminar hyfforddi hwn ar gyfer staff a gwirfoddolwyr o amgueddfeydd yng Nghymru yn unig.
